Rome Katana 2016 Snowboard Bindings : The new Katana revolutionizes SDS binding design. In our creative process for this project, we took all that is amazing about our ground-breaking UnderWrap bindings and created an even better interface for slashing, pressing, spinning and carving mountains. Through this process, we have created a super-technical, super-light binding for all who love strapping into snowboards. It flexes into those tweaked-out, contorted crails. It powers those deeply rutted early-morning carves. It flows and pops with the rider to surf into a wall of untracked snow and explode it 20 feet into the air. And it customizes comfort and control like no other binding to match one person’s style—yours.

Footbed: Optional Canting D30 Foam
V-Rod Baseplate : A V-shaped baseplate with a "rod" of edge-to-edge contact limits the binding's footprint on the board, which delivers three things: natural board flex, greater binding flexibility side-to-side, and full power from toe to heel. You get the perfect blend of flex with pop.
SubBase V-Pad : Partnered with the V-Rod baseplate, the 3D profile of the EVA and rubber sub-base pad fills the lifted corners of the baseplate creating cushioning for the smoothest side-to-side flex while allowing for a dampening barrier between the baseplate and topsheet.

Straps: Autostrap
PivotMount Strap Technology Rome's created a new, easy-to-pivot attachment system for both sides of your ankle strap to let you increase the range of ankle strap positions over your foot. This lets you quickly tune the flex of your binding. While many bindings in snowboarding limit ankle strap positions to one choice, the Katana maximizes rider choice.
Auto Strap : Rome's signature idea using an elastic band to hold the ankle straps out of the footbed until you are ready to strap in.
Contourlight Ankle Strap :The Contourlight Ankle Strap features a minimalist design that pre-loads tension in the strap for a better heel hold with less pressure. Multiple densities of EVA are placed in the spots that optimize comfort, flexibility and response.

Highback: Asym Katana Highback
Asym Katana Highback: The new highback that Rome designed to top off the Katana features two levels of asymmetry: it’s asymmetrical in flex and shape, to deliver smooth flexibility in the right areas and fully-powered performance everywhere you need it. Here’s what you get: Softer flexing on the medial side for the freedom that snowboarding demands. Fully supportive up the lateral side of the highback for the powerful response that snowboarding demands. Asymmetrically shaped to be higher on the medial side to line up with the angles of your lower leg. Advanced lightness from coring and thinner profiling.
Cant-In-The-Back: Customization for control and comfort by adjusting the highback angle to match the natural curvature of your stance. Rider has choice between 3 and 6 degrees of highback canting.

Warranty: Limited Lifetime
Rome's bindings come with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects
