Snowboard Bindings

The task of choosing the right snowboard bindings can seem daunting because of all of the choices available to you, but it’s fairly simple when broken down. There are three basic things to consider when choosing snowboard bindings. The first is whether you are buying men’s or women’s snowboard bindings, as there are specific bindings made for each sex. The next thing is the size of the binding. Snowboard bindings come in sizes from small to extra large, and the size needed depends on your foot and boot size. The last thing to consider is if you want a stiff or soft high back, and your riding style helps you make that choice.

Deciding if you want a stiff or soft high back depends on your riding style. If you’re a freestyle boarder and into riding the parks, catching air, and sliding rails, you are definitely going to want a soft high back as it will give you more mobility and comfort when performing tricks and bombing off jumps. If you’re a big mountain rider and into high speeds and less worried about pulling of tricks and jumps, you’re definitely want to go with a snowboard binding with a stiff high back.

The only other thing to consider when selecting snowboard bindings is foot position and compatibility with your board. Since most snowboards have pre-drilled holes so they can mount many different types of bindings on their boards, however, be sure your bindings are compatible with your board before you purchase them, and vice versa. By using our snowboard package builder you can be sure your equipment will be compatible. There are also base plates available which allow you to customize your foot positions by getting just the right angles on your board.

No matter what type of rider you are, you’re sure to find a great deal on snowboard bindings at Wiredsport!
